Original language description
Generation Alfa members will be the first completely digital generation. We do not know if they will watch television news in the format we know it now. But what kind of news will they follow? This paper summarize the key findings of the longitudinal research focused on the analysis of Czech mainstream television channel‘s news discourse since 2000. Both quantitative (content analysis) and qualitative approaches (discourse analysis, narrative analysis, grounded theory) were used in the research of public service and commercial media. This paper focuses on the changes of the news structure of main evening news programme of the Czech television (public service broadcaster) and points to new methods of news creation, procedures of the expressing the meaning and the uses of new technologies in the contemporary Czech news genre.
