Original language description
The book Jiří Louda: Coats of Arms of the Knights of the Order of the Garter contains more than 1000 coats of arms, rendered by this important Czech heraldist and an enthusiastic populariser of his field. Despite Louda's attempts to publish this unique ensemble during his lifetime, the book was not published until 2020, on the 100th anniversary of his birth. In addition to the coats of arms themselves, this representative publication includes chapters on Louda's life and his relationship with heraldry. The importance of the book is evidenced by the fact that the preface was written by Prince Charles, the son of the current British queen and a member of the Garter Order.
