Original language description
Translation with introduction to the eight lecture of the Exposition of Aristotle's First Book On the Parts of Animal of Pietro Pomponazzi, that is the first Renaissance commentary of this zoological writing. In the eighth lecture of the first book, Pomponazzi deals with the issue of natural philosophy and surprisingly criticizes Aristotle’s approach as inconsistent. In this text, Pomponazzi also touches on the topic of the immortality of the soul and a strict distinction between truths of faith and philosophy.
