Mobility and migrations in interwar avant-garde theatres in Central-eastern Europe. Introductory remarks
Original language description
One of the crucial aspects of avant-garde theatre can be seen in the large number of migrant artists and the aspects of their mobility between different countries. The reasons for migration varied from artist to artist, from country to country. This introduction to an entire chapter thus highlights certain regions and even cities as parallel centres, all of which were of particular interest to artists from Central and Eastern Europe as destinations for travel, migration, visitation and/or political refuge.
