Juan Luis Vives (1493–1540): Introduction to Wisdom
Original language description
Vives’ Introduction to Wisdom, first published in 1524 in Latin, was one of his most popular works. Vives offers an exhortation to leading the life of wisdom, and in doing so, he amalgamates Christian tradition with Stoic ethics. We are presenting here the 1540 translation with careful modernization. The translation is preceeded by an intruduction.
