Original language description
Based on a thorough study of previously unknown archival materials, the text describes the relationship between two key figures in Czech modern art around 1900: architect Jan Kotěra and sculptor Stanislav Sucharda. At the time, both were professors at the Prague School of Applied Arts, drove the key activities of the Mánes Association of Fine Artists, and were friends for a long time. Attention is paid to Suchard's villa designed by Kotěra, Suchard's sculptural collaboration on other Kotěra projects (monumental buildings, tombstones), as well as portraits and medals depicting members of Kotěra's family.
