Personal Status of Refugees: The Original International Solution
Original language description
The object of the contextual analysis is the personal status of Russian and Armenian refugees (legal capacity and capacity to act). The legal status of refugees was far from juristic uniformity. Their situation in receiving European states was uncertain and precarious. The law of their original nationality, domicile, habitual residence or residence was applied. The non-binding standard in § 2 of the 1928 Arrangement relating to the Legal Status of Russian and Armenian Refugees three connecting factors: domicile, habitual residence and residence.
