Czech Republic. Digital Markets not a Clear Priority
Original language description
The digital economy is not a priority of Czech competition law. It does not have any specific legislation addressing the gatekeepers or other significant undertakings in digital markets. The number of cases from digital economy is very limited. The adoption of the Digital Markets Act did not change anything in this regard. Implementation of the DMA is very brief. The Czech Competition Authority will not be empowered to carry out investigations of compliance with the DMA. Among professionals, there does not seem to be a demand for a stronger national competition policy vis-à-vis the digital markets.
