The chapter deals with the history and development of the Catholic biblical science in the Czech republic after 1989 when new possibilities of free activity and development also for theology were opened. New specialists in biblical theology who earned their doctorate abroad or at home could emerge. Articles and books with biblical topics are appearing. A complete Catholic edition of the Bible is being prepared. More popular means for a better knowledge of the Bible are available, too. Notwithstanding these achievements patient and hard work is still necessary for the Catholic biblical theology in the Czech republic so as not to be lagging behind the European and world level.
