Original language description
Christian tradition in Egypt and particularly the Coptic Orthodox Church is the most influential factor on the life within the family of the non-chalcedonian churches. The Coptic Orthodox Church in the 20th Century experienced the renaissance of its spiritual life. The paper deals with the main characteristics of the Coptic tradition and also with selected persons and ideas of the renaissance - e.g. the education of the laymen and the priesthood, the reform of the Church, the care about youth, etc. Thesecond part of the paper is focused on the two most influential persons of the Coptic Orthodox Tradition - the Pope Shenouda (1923) and Abuna Matta el-Meskeen (1919-2006)
