God’s even “better project”. Reflections on Isa 24:23 compared to Isa 30:26 in the Masoretic text and in the Septuagint
Original language description
The chapter attempts to demonstrate what roles are attributed to the sun and the moon in Isa 24:23 and 30:26, i.e. in the verses that use the same Hebrew terminology and that in their actual contexts look for overcoming the dangers and war threats faced by the people of Judah, reputedly in Isaiah’s time. The chapter also explains how the first Greek translator understood these verses, influenced eventually by the events of his own day.
