Elijahʼs writing to the king Jehoram (2 Chr 21:12-15) – transformation of prophetic performation into prophetic text
Original language description
In 2 Chr 21:12-15 king Jehoram receives a writing from the prophet Elijah. This writing is a witness of the changing role of the prophet. The article analyses why and when the changing process took place and who were its agents. The gradual transformation of the inspired prophetic performation into inspired literary work has left traces in canonical writings in which prophets are presented as scribes. In this role the prophet Elijah appears in the Second Book of Chronicles, when king Jehoram receives his writing.
