Original language description
This article focuses on Recursive Frame Analysis (RFA), the qualitative research method developed to analyze discursive shifts in therapeutic sessions. Initially, the philosophical origins and the positioning of this method within the field of research methodology are addressed. Subsequently, practical considerations about “how to apply” this method in the context of change process research are discussed. It details distinguishing between frames and galleries in conversations, scoring movements within a “three-act structure,” and noting down circularities in therapeutic sessions. Additionally, the article introduces some original and stimulating ideas concerning this research methodology, along with a brief example drawn from RFA research.
