Original language description
Clement’s writings are rich in borrowings from many ancient sources. We find many parallels between Plutarch and Clement, especially between Clement’s Paedagogus and Plutarch’s Table-Talk. The paper recapitulates previous studies comparing Clement and Plutarch, the changes in methodological approaches in recent decades, and analyzes several types of Clement's borrowings from Plutarch. In conclusion, it describes Clement's thoughtful approach to the use of Plutarch’ texts.
