Co-evolution of host-parasite interactions: Case study Lactuca sativa - Bremia lactucae
Original language description
Host-parasite interactions represent flexible and dynamic systems, esp. those based on gene-for-gene relationships. Influence of new resistant cultivars use on parasite populations was demonstrated e.g. in the Lactuca sativa - Bremia lactucae interaction, the best known plant-biotrophic fungus system from the viewpoint of co-evolution.
