The developed method of quantitative evaluation of internal microstructure of cemented carbides is presented in this article. The volume fraction of individual components and the carbide grain-size and shape were obtained by digital processing of imagesof internal microstructure of evaluated materials. Furthermore, the statistical processing of the obtained data was carried out to prove the advisability of the digital image analysis in the field of quantitative metallography
