Encoding the quantum state of cavity mode into an atomic beam
Original language description
We show that an unknown quantum state of a mode of the cavity field that contains no more than N photons can be reversibly transferred into an entangled state of N Rydberg atoms. We utilize this technique to design quantum scissors for the cavity-field state. Encoding the cavity-field state into atoms may also be useful for teleportation or reconstruction of that state.
