The main purpose of our study was to compare defense responses of three Lycopersicon spp. accessions (L. esculentum cv. Amateur - highly susceptible control, L. hirsutum LA 1738 - highly resistant, L. chmielewskii LA 2663 - moderately resistant) after inoculation by O. neolycopersici. Histochemical methods were used for detection of reactive oxygen species (O2-, H2O2). Selected Lycopersicon spp. accessions with different level of resistance to O. neolycopersici differ in production of reactive oxygen species (timing and intensity of signal), peroxidase activity, hypersensitive reaction and Oidium neolycopersici germination.
