Together with the changes of agriculture in the past years great artificial alluvial areas in the floodplain have appeared. These changes are noticeable in the Morava River floodplain, Czech Republic, where the majority semi-natural grasslands has been ploughed up and gradually restored to a variety of meadow states. Within the framework of this project which deals with the disproportions of agricultural policy and nature conservation strategies meadow stands were restored in different periods, temporarily flooded with non-manure management. Their existence continues to depend on mowing. Phytosociological relevés, using the standard Zurich-Montpellier school methods, were made. In order to compare their degree of development and ability to realize temporary flood meadow functions relevés of the semi-natural non-restored meadow stands were also made.
