Original language description
The evolution and dating of erosional topography of the Bílé Karpaty unit (the westernmost part of the Outer West Carpathians) was investigated by using following geophysical and geochemical methods: Anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility (AMS), Microscopic photometry (Vitrinite reflection), Rock-Eval Pyrolysis, Elementary analysis of Carbon and other organic material contents and K-Ar dating of volcanic rocks. The investigated site is a 16 km2 large area of almost horizontally bedded flysch rocks with predominance of sandstones. It is a part of Bílé Karpaty unit (Magura group of the nappes). The main altitude of this part is 510 m a.s.l. and the difference between the highest (735 m a.s.l.) and the lowest (333 m a.s.l.) points is 402 m. The western part of the sandstone body is bounded by the Nezdenice fault, which was active before the Sarmatian. But the manifestation of this fault is not obvious in present-day topography there.
