Original language description
In the quarry near Dolní Loučky (20 km NW from Brno, core of the Moravian Svratka Dome) was found barite mineralization as small sills or lenses arranged conformably with schistosity of host Proterozoic metagranitoids. Mineralization is formed by barite, calcite rutile, Mg-amphibole and talc, in the wall rock were identified also hyalophane, Ba-muscovite and Ba-biotite. hydrothermal alterations have not been recognized. Sulphur isotope data indicate high-temperature inorganic reduction of barite. The geological position, structures and presence of Ba-silicates indicate metamorphic reworking of the mineralization. Because relatively high temperatures (250-300°C) are required for both reduction of sulphate and formation of Ba-silicates, we belive, that barite was affected by Variscan metamorphism. The described mineralization is mineralogically and isotopically very different from post-Variscan vein barite mineralization widely occuring inthis area, but, in fact, it is the same as previo
