The effect of meta-topolin on photosynthetic pigment composition in wheat leaves during artificial senescence on continuous light or in the dark
Original language description
Cytokinins comprise a considerable group of plant growth regulators having ability to retard processes occurring during senescence. Leaf senescence is typically characterised by the loss of photosynthetic pigments. We have studied the effect of cytokininmeta-topolin (MT) (naturally occurring purinyl cytokinin having an aromatic side ring) on chlorophyll (Chl) and carotenoid (Car) content in detached wheat leaves during artificial senescence in the dark or on continuous light.
