Stream meiobenthos and flow velocity - do mossy and mineral substrata differ?
Original language description
The primary objective of this study was to determine relationships of moss- and surrounding mineral substrata-dwelling meiobenthos with local flow velocity in two low-order streams (the Bystřice River, Czech Republic; the Oberer Seebach, Austria). Whileseveral meiobenthic groups were affected negatively by flow velocity within the studied moss, Fontinalis antipyretica, no clear relationships were observed within the uppermost layer of mineral bed in both streams. Probably, mineral substrata-dwelling meiobenthic invertebrates and/or the mineral bed itself responded differently to flow conditions compared to the exposed clumps of F. antipyretica.

Říční meiobentos a rychlost proudění - je rozdíl mezi mechovým a minerálním substrátem?
Czech description
Studie se zabývá vlivem lokální rychlosti proudu na společenstva meiobentosu osídlující mech a okolní minerální substrát dna podhorských potoků (Bystřice, Česká republika a Oberer Seebach, Rakousko).
