In the last few years, structure changes in the Czech economy, especially in industry, have influenced both the role and the importance of branches of extracting and processing minerals and materials of mineral origin. Market economy caused a restictionor even termination of mining of non-economic deposits, where mining continued with the help of state subventions in the past. All mining was stopped in the deposits of ores, the mining of coal has been limited significantly in many regions. The mining of uranium ores was strictly limited.

Změny v těžbě a dobývání nerostných surovin v České republice v období 1990-2004

Czech description

Vývoj těžby nerostných surovin v ČR v sobě v posledních letech i díky strukturálním změnám v České ekonomice, zejména v průmyslu, odráží četná specifika transformace české ekonomiky. Transformace ekonomiky způsobila jednak útlum těžby vybraných surovin,jednak nutné investice do útlumovým programů. Těžba rud s výjimkou těžby uranové rudy byla v roce 1993 úplně ukončena a těžba černého a hnědého uhlí výrazně poklesla (více než na polovinu těžby z počátku transformačního období). Ukončení těžby uranu bylojiž několikrát odloženo. U vybraných nerudných surovin po počátečním poklesu těžby dochází v posledních letech i díky oživení ekonomiky k opětovnému nárůstu jejich těžby, podobně jako má rostoucí tendenci i těžba ropy.
