Protected areas in the Czech Republic introduce a regime-specific potential into the spatial expansion of tourism industry. Advancement of recreational acitivities in protected areas has been legally determined by the degree of nature protectrion. The paper deals with utilization of Czech protected areas in the tourism industry and analyses the so-called tourism stresses. A more detailed look is given to the visit rates of show caves.

Chráněná území v České republice představují specifický potenciál pro cestovní ruch. Rozvoj turistických aktivit na těchto územích je determinovaný stupněm ochrany přírody. Článek se zabývá problematikou využití zvláště chráněných území pro cestovní rucha otázkou tzv. turistických zátěží. Modelově je představena situace českých jeskyní.
