Condensation of rye chromatin in somatic interphase nuclei of Ph1 and ph1b wheat
Original language description
The Ph1 locus in hexaploid wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) enforces diploid-like behavior in the first metaphase of meiosis. It has been postulated that this chromosome pairing control is exercised by affecting the levels of chromatin condensation: in the absence of Ph1 chromatin is less condensed and hence may be more amenable to the homology search. To test this hypothesis, condensation of rye chromatin in somatic tissues of several different wheat-rye chromosome translocations was compared in Ph1 and ph1b isogenic backgrounds. No significant differences in rye chromatin condensation that could be attributed to the Ph1 locus were detected. Earlier contradictory observations that indicated the involvement of Ph1 locus in rye chromatin condensation couldhave been due either to specific loci on the studied 5RL rye arm that control the chromosome condensation process or to a damage to the genetic system controlling chromatin condensation in the existing ph1b stocks of wheat. That damage mi

Kondenzace chromatinu v interfázních somatických jádrech Ph1 and ph1b pšenice
Czech description
Byla srovnávána kondenzace chromatinu v interfázních somatických jádrech Ph1 and ph1b pšenice. Nebyly shledány žádné rozdíly, které by bylo možné vysvětlit přítomností Ph1 lokusu.
