We investigate a solvability of discrete second order nonlinear boundary value problems where a nonlinearity in a difference equation may have a singularity at its dependent variable. We prove the existence theorem which we apply to a singular problem arising in the theory of shallow membrane caps.

Czech description

Vyšetřujeme řešitelnost diskrétních nelineárních okrajových úloh druhého řádu, v nichž nelinearita v diferenční rovnici smí mít singularitu ve své závisle proměnné. Dokazujeme existenční větu, kterou aplikujeme na singulární úlohu vznikající v teorii tenkých membrán.
