Eye Registration Using a Fast Mutual Information Algorithm
Original language description
A proper registration and a subsequent comparison of two iris or retinal scans taken at different time can reveal arising pathological changes within a human eye. Such changes can be consequently treated more effectively. In this article, we present a method of the eye registration where mutual information is used for the registration of medical images. The registration process involves computation with non-integer values. Therefore, the computing of mutual information is more complicated and differentauthors solve it in different ways. Here, the registration was performed by a fast algorithm that computes the mutual information as if it were in a continuous case. In this work, we also studied the influences of different factors such as color and image scaling on the efficiency of registration.

Registrace snímků duhovky pomocí rychlého výpočtu vzájemné informace
