Original language description
The White Carpathians represent the mountains range extended along the border between the Czech Republic and Slovakia, with the northeast-southwest orientation and the altitude fluctuating between 175 and 970 m. They represent one of the western most parts of the whole Carpathians. The White Carpathians represent a purticularly valuable landscape area especially for presence of specics rich meadows with exceptionally rich flora and fragmente of old-growth beech forests in higher altitudes. White Carpathians have been proclaimed as Protected Landscape Areas both on the Czech and Slovak sides and they were included into the world network of Biosphere Reserves under the UNESCO programme Man and tne Biosphere.
