Diurnal epigeic activity of terrestrial isopods (Isopoda: Oniscidea).

  • Original language description

Diurnal epigeic activity of woodlice in a floodplain forest and nearby clear-cut areas was studied during late spring and early autumn of 2005 by pitfall trapping technique. A total of 100 traps was being checked every three hours. In total, 6 species ofisopods were trapped, but only Trachelipus rathkii and Protracheoniscus politus were found being dominant. The species P. politus and Porcellium conspersum showed specific significant patterns of their epigeic activity depending on day-time.
