Fluorescence properties of 2-aryl-3-hydroxyquinolin-4(1H)-one-carboxamides
Original language description
The fluorescence properties of 2-substituted phenyl-3-hydroxyquinolin-4(1H)-one-carboxamides (3HQCs) with carboxylic alkylamide group at position 6, 7 or 8 (3HQ6Cs, 3HQ7Cs and 3HQ8Cs hereinafter) have been studied to evaluate their potential as molecularprobes. It was found that the investigated aryl substitutions at the position 2 of 3HQCs affected the shape of emission spectra marginally whereas the influence of the quantum yield was significant. The effect of the carboxamide group position on fluorescence spectra was also studied. It was observed that the position the carboxamide influences the quantum yield as well as the emission spectrum properties. The 3HQ8Cs exhibited only single-band spectra with the maximum at lower wavelengths and the spectra of 3HQ6Cs and 3HQ7Cs exhibited double-band spectra with the intensive maximum at higher wavelengths.
