Robust statistical analysis of compositional data
Original language description
Robust statistical methods are nowadays widely used when one has to deal with data that are affected by artifacts such that classical methods fail. Robust methods allow for certain deviations from a predefined statistical model. Although a lot of work has been devoted to the development of robust statistical methods, their development for compositional data is still at the beginning. One of the reasons was the lack of a regular and isometric transformation from the simplex, the sample space of compositions, to the Euclidean real space. The main task of this contribution is to provide a comprehensive view of robustness for compositional data.
