Statistical analysis of the fitting spheres
Original language description
The result of fitting data with d-dimensional spheres by least square method depends on the definition of the residual function. Based on the statistical and numerical simulation this article describes in some detail the differences following two similarapproaches, one (algebraic) can be viewed as a linear problem solvable by standard finite algorithm of linear algebra, but the other (geometric) is a nonlinear problem which needs more demanding computation.
