Occurrence of species spectrum of cucurbit powdery mildew and their hyperparasitic fungus, Ampelomyces quisqalis, in the Czech Republic during the years 2008 - 2009
Original language description
A survey of species spectrum of cucurbit powdery mildew (CPM) (Golovinomyces cichoracearum (Gc) and Podosphaera xanthii (Px)) and their hyperparasite A. quisqualis (AQ) was realized in the Czech Republic (CR) in the period 2008 - 2009. A total of 229 herbarized leaf samples of cucurbit plants with CPM symptoms were microscopically analyzed using the morphological characteristics of the anamorphic stage as a criterion for CPM species determination. In both years, Gc significantly prevailed, but its frequency changed as a single occurred species, and/or mixed infections with Px between the individual years. Occurrence of AQ varied between both years. In 2008, AQ occurred on CPM species very rarely (only on 3 locations). In contrast to the year 2009, whenAQ was more frequently recorded (27 locations).
