The role of standards in spatial data quality visualisation
Original language description
Geographic data files describe the real world from different points of view and give a direct or indirect reference to the geographical location. This data are constantly shared, interchanged and also used to different purposes for which they were primarily created. Spatial data quality is evolving as a core discipline of geographic information science (GIS/Geomatics). Starting with issues related to the error in spatial data there can be seen the focus on technological development over the years. Information about the quality of spatial data is necessary for the proper selection and use of these data. The main aim for data providers is the highest reuse of their data. This is only possible via the fulfilment of two prerequisites. Datasets satisfy theassumptions of end users and the degree in which are these assumptions met are fully documented. Both of these aspects have to lead to formalize the accessing the quality of spatial data. This situation is covered with a large number of s
