A new species of Bolitoglossa (Amphibia: Plethodontidae) from eastern Panama, with comments on other species of the adspersa species group from eastern Panama
Original language description
We describe a new species of Bolitoglossa from Cerro Chucantí, Cordillera de Majé, Provincia de Darién, Panama. A phylogenetic analysis based on molecular data provides evidence for the assignment of the new taxon to the Bolitoglossa adspersa species group. The new species differs in color pattern and morphometrics from all other congeners found in eastern Panama. Additionally, we include comments on the other species of salamanders known to occur in the region.
