Lithofacies and trace fossils: a case study on selected profiles of the Myslejovice Formation (Drahany culm basin)
Original language description
In the Moravo-Silesian Zone are generally recognized two main Culm basins known as the Drahany and Nízký Jeseník Basin. The Culm sediments of Drahany Upland (basin) region are lithostratigraphically subdivided by Dvořák into Protivanov, Rozstání and Myslejovice Formation. Studied localities are situated in parts of erosion banks of the Malá Haná River. The profiles are described as a turbidite flows after Pickering et al. (1986). Sediments could be devided into several facies classes - A (conglomerates), B (sandstones) and D (laminated siltstones). Occurence of trace fossils - Diplocraterion, Cosmorhaphe, Dictyodora and Chondrites genuses, indicated the Nereites ichnofacies orZoophycos ichnofacies.
