Arsenic and other trace elements in thermal springs and in cold waters from drinking water wells on the Bolivian Altiplano
Original language description
Hot springs and cold waters at the Bolivian Altiplano were investigated with focus on arsenic and other trace elements. Predominants ions were sodium and chloride and arsenic concentrations in cold waters were higher than in hot springs, with As(III) aspredominant species. Arsenic is attenuated by adsorption on ferric mineral phases. There is a high risk of arsenic exposure in the study area.
