Anomalous drip in the Punkva caves (Moravian Karst): implications for paleoclimatic proxies

  • Original language description

The drips in the Punkva caves have been investigated using several methods. There was an anomalous drip, which differed from regular drips in several parameters including mineralization and isotopic values. It has been interpreted as a consequence of prior calcite precipitation above the caves. This behavior has implications for the use of speleothems as climatic archives.
