Preparation of bis(5-phenyltetrazolato) Pt(II) and Pt(IV) analogues of transplatin and in vitro evaluation for antitumor activity

  • Original language description

Eight analogues of transplatin bearing 5-phenyltetrazolato and 5-(phenol)tetrazolato ligands were prepared and characterized. It was shown that due to the strong binding ability of the 5R-tetrazole to Pt, this ligand does not simply act as a bioisostere of a carboxylic acid but still imparts interesting biological activity to Pt(IV) complexes.
