Implementation of Geospatial Web Services for Precise Farming - Case study on Responsive Map Client

  • Original language description

The article highlights the benefits and potential of a responsive web map client designed to passportisation of sugar fields especially with emphasis on the implementation of OGC Web Map Services for precise farming. The concept of the application aims to fundamentally simplify the process of passportisation sugar fields data as one of the key prerequisites for precision farming. It helps with the use of state-of-the-art web technologies and format such as GeoJSON. It allows both dekstop and mobile access and web services implementation. The map client can visualize web services of remote providers such as Land Registry or Czech Cadastral Office and combine them with their own farm data in GeoJSON format. Descriptive (text records), statistical (yield, area), identificational (numerical designation, BPEJ evidence number), graphical, spatial (GPS coordinates, altitude), multimedia (photo or video), sensors (specific records from automatic sensors) and temporal (changes per year / period) data could be stored.
