Laser ablation-assisted synthesis of GO/TiO2/Au nanocomposite: Applications in K-3[Fe(CN)(6)] and Nigrosin reduction

  • Original language description

The GO/TiO2/Au nanocomposite has been synthesized by facile, cheap laser ablation strategy and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and elemental mapping have been used to characterize it. Transmission electron microscope (TEM) analysis reveals the formation of average particle sizes for TiO2 and Au nanoparticles (NPs) to be (similar to)32 nm and less than 10 nm, respectively. The GO/TiO2/Au nano composite demonstrates remarkable catalytic activity and high reusability toward the reduction of Nigrosin (NS) and K-3[Fe(CN)(6)] (potassium hexacyanoferrate(III)) by NaBH4 in aqueous medium. The GO/TiO2/Au as an efficient nanocatalyst can be easily recovered from the reaction medium after reduction and used again.
