    Simple Structure in Boolean Matrix Factorization

    We are going back to the root of Boolean matrix factorization (BMF) - to factor analysis - and we examine an implementation of the simple structure in BMF. We propose a Boolean counterpart of the simple structure, i.e. a novel way how to evaluate interpretability of factors. Moreover, we discuss the proposed approach from the formal concept analysis perspective, and we provide an analysis of the interpretability of results obtained via selected the state-of-the-art BMF algorithms on real-world data. Additionally, we propose a novel BMF algorithm utilizing a main criterion for the factor selection based on the simple structure.
