Update of the Raman optical activity spectrometer

  • Original language description

Presented result is a functional sample – Update of a Raman optical activity spectrometer. The basis for the upgrade was the Functional Sample Spectrometer for Raman Optical Activity Measurements (V126) developed in the framework of project TAČR – Centre of digital optics (TE01020229) at the end of 2019. The spectrometer upgrade consisted of several key areas: the concept of the mounting of critical optical parts, a new design of the entire spectrometer housing and enclosure, and a new concept and layout of the control electronics. The aim was to increase the robustness of the spectrometer, to reduce the influence of external environmental parameters (temperature variations, environmental cleanliness), to increase the modularity of the equipment, and to make the equipment easier to install and maintain. The spectrometer was successfully tested after completion and long-term measurements will continue in the future. Testing has confirmed that the performance of the spectrometer has been improved in all planned areas. Following the achievement of a working sample result, intensive work is underway to commercialize the spectrometer, with the first units expected to be sold in 2022.
