    The contribution focuses on selected aspects of speech and language differential diagnostics of nonverbal communication and deals with e.g. nonverbal speech and the language symptoms in autistic spectrum disorders. It emphasises the importance of speechand language therapist in the process of assessing nonverbal communication and introduces some partial results of researches conducted at the Department of Communication and Sensory Disorders of the Institute of Education at Palacký University in Olomouc, Czech Republic.
