"I'm not a Rice Pot": Disability, Society and Inclusion in Hong Kong
Original language description
This paper reports Darren's story told from the perspective of a person who, due to a serious accident as a young adult, became a quadriplegic. Darren experienced debilitating consequences as a result, which led to many challenges for him in both socialand work activities. His limited mobility directly affected his job prospects and personal life. By sharing his life experiences and the personal difficulties he faced, Darren's story highlights the difficulties of young people who are physically disabled in Hong Kong. It is a story of hope and encouragement, although it began with one of frustration, depression, and boredom.
