This theoretical chapter addresses the issue of the frame of reference in art lessons, which is the area of arts and culture. Other questions, which this article attempts to answer are what the specifics of artistic way of adopting the reality are, and what characteristics are attached to a work of art. The study discusses contemporary findings in the theory of art, in particular the findings of P. Bourdieu, N. Goodman, A. Danto and K. Liessmann.
