Prof. D. Earl acquainted students with the system of music education in the United States. She also provided methodical instructions on the ways to be used when we hand music down to listeners. She stressed the importance of humour and variety. Her introduction of the practical knowledge was aptly combined with her own techniques that the participants could try by themselves. Prof. D. Earl considers the relation to joy and humour as the most important mission of music which she illustrated by playing several extracts on the piano.
