Contemporary trends and problems of scientific terminology
Original language description
The study deals about actual trends in development of scientific terminology and its main problems from the general point of view. It points out on homonymous nature of the term terminology and some confusing equivalents of it. As main trends are reflected permanently increasing total number of notions (concepts) and new terms, internationalisation of terminology, coordination and standardization of terminology in national and international range, rise of inter-branch links, transferring terms from other terminological systems, transferring terms from foreign languages, rise of homonymous terms, rise of multiword terms (term phrases), rise of different shortenings as equivalents of terms, rise of numbers of sources of terminological information. As main problems are reflected low terminological literacy and terminological culture, underestimating of special language education in special colleges and universities, absence of terminological training in many study programs and lack of terminological research.
