A Bottom-up ICT Training Approach for Teachers
Original language description
In China, every stakeholder in education pays close attention to educational informatization, and most of the K12 teachers have already received at least two rounds of ICT training. However, the results of the training are far from expectation. This research takes interest in two questions: whether the teachers are interested in ICT training; and whether there is difference in the results of ICT training between the new bottom-up training mode and the traditional top-down training mode. Questionnaires have been designed and developed to investigate 60 teachers' interest; and a quasi-experiment have been designed and conducted to find out the difference. During the quasi-experiment, the participants of the control group (30 teachers) were trained by the traditional top-down mode, while teachers in the experimental group (30 teachers) were trained by the new bottom-up mode. Microsoft Excel was used to analyze the questionnaires and SPSS was used to analyze the results of the ICT competence tests. It is discovered that all of the participants are very interested in ICT training and there are significant difference in the results of ICT training between the two different training modes.
